Presents SCFA courses to students and supports instruction through teaching firefighting programs, working in SCBA and firefighting protective clothing, entering and working in burn buildings, fighting fire on live fire props, demonstrating safe suppression techniques, raising and lowering ladders, climbing ladders, and moving equipment up to 100lbs. Serves as a member of the site emergency response team at the State Fire campus including responding to incidents on and off campus. Provides instructional support to other instructors when assigned. Provides proper documentation of all courses and student records. Assists in the set up of fire equipment and props as required. Performs minor maintenance of fire and rescue equipment and props. Monitors students during practice activities to ensure that proper procedures are followed and safety is maximized. Monitors the testing and evaluation phases of courses to ensure safe practices, consistency, policy adherence, equity, and proper delivery. Completes required annual practical and/or on-line training in a prompt manner as required for continued employment. Performs other duties as assigned.
