Mobile Sign Trailer
The South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association has a portable changeable message sign available for the benefit of member departments. The message sign is made possible by a 2013 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Services (SAFER) grant. The grant stipulates that the sign will be utilized on a first-come-first basis to member departments.
The sign can be used for Association activities and for member department activities such as recruitment and retention efforts and community risk reduction outreaches. It is a self-contained battery-operated unit fully equipped with security devices located on the trailer hitch, battery compartments, wheel lug nuts, and axle. Messages can be created through the handheld controller or remotely.
