Voting members will vote for 3VP and 4VP

Voting members will elect the Association’s 3^rd Vice President in addition to the annual standard election of 4^th Vice President when the voting period opens on May 31, 2023.

Former 2^nd Vice President Jamie Helms was hired in December as the Association’s Deputy Director, necessitating that the current 3VP and 4VP move to 2VP and 3VP, respectively.

President Josh Holzheimer recommended West Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief John Jones for interim 4^th Vice President and the recommendation was approved by the Executive Committee during its meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Chief Jones will serve as 4VP until the election concludes during Fire-Rescue.

The recommendation of an interim 4VP by the President and ascension of Vice Presidents in the circumstance of a vacant Vice President position is in accordance with the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws, Article 3 Section 3. The Association sought advice from legal counsel regarding the interpretation of the Constitution and Bylaws and implementation of recommended practices.

Three candidates are campaigning to be elected to the Executive Committee. The candidate who receives the highest number of votes will be elected 3^rd Vice President; the second highest, 4^th Vice President.
