Update on the South Carolina Fire Heritage Center

June 4, 2026

Twenty years ago, leaders of the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association took a bold step toward the future when they purchased 111 Westpark in Columbia.

It was a decision built on vision, faith, and a belief in what the fire service in South Carolina could become.

We officially closed the chapter on that building on May 29, 2026, and did so with gratitude for those who carried that vision forward and pride in everything accomplished within those walls.

Now, we take another exciting step toward the future with the continued development of the South Carolina Fire Heritage Center — a place that will honor the firefighters who built our state’s fire service, preserve generations of history and tradition, and educate citizens on the rich legacy, sacrifice, and impact of South Carolina firefighters for years to come.
