Best Practices in Community Risk Reduction  Class date: Oct 23-24, 2017 (The final deadline for registration is Oct. 9) Due to high demand, the deadline has been extended for NFA’s Best Practices in Community Risk-Reduction being offered at the South Carolina Fire Academy.   For course information and registration, click HERE  

Mock Line Strike  Class date: Oct 25, 2017  (The final deadline for registration is Oct. 12) Being a successful firefighter and first responder involves being knowledgeable about any type of emergency situation. South Carolina State Fire is partnering with 811 to host a mock line strike Wednesday, October 25 on the campus of State Fire in Columbia. This FREE, one-day demonstration and class provides vital information and education about the proper methods and procedures involved with an incident involving a struck gas line. Pipeline Emergency Response Awareness  Class date: Oct 26, 2017 South Carolina Pipeline Emergency Response initiative has partnered with South Carolina Fire Academy to provide a FREE pilot course offering of Pipeline Emergency Response Awareness. This course, being taught Thursday, October 26, carries a wealth of knowledge and proper safety procedures for first responders who may encounter a pipeline emergency involving a highly volatile material. Who Protects Firefighters from Firefighters?  Class date: Dec 15-16, 2017 (The final deadline for registration is Oct. 15) A firefighter’s primary objective is to save and protect lives and property. However, as important as it is to save lives and property, it’s also important not to ignore the possible risks involved in any given situation that can threaten a firefighter’s safety. This FREE two-day NFA course offering being taught at the South Carolina Fire Academy is designed to assist emergency services personnel in defining and advocating organizational change within the fire service relating to safety.
