The South Carolina State Firefighters’ Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting firefighters throughout South Carolina, has received a $5,000 donation from Dominion Energy. Foundation Chairman Chief Jamie Caggiano said, “Donations from our business partners like Dominion Energy are vital for the Foundation’s mission; supportingfirefighters who are in need.” The grant will be used to provide scholarships for hands-on training, benevolence and support, helping the more than 17,500 firefighters across the Palmetto State. These firefighters, including paid and volunteer, protect South Carolina communities and citizens from disaster daily. “Dominion Energy is thrilled to provide funding that will help the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Foundation offer high-quality training programs for firefighters across South Carolina,” said Kristen Beckham, external affairs representative for Dominion Energy. “It’s an honor to help these brave men and women become better equipped for challenges, so they can better protect South Carolina’s communities.” About the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Foundation The South Carolina State Firefighters’ Foundation was founded in 2001 to assist firefighters in need through financial support. The Foundation uses donations for education, personal tragedy or medical bills and other firefighter needs. Over the last few years the Foundation has assisted firefighters who have lost their homes due to the floods of 2015, to firefighters battling cancer, and just recently provided a residential sprinkler system to a firefighterwho was injured on duty and is confined to a wheel chair.
