South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association Announces New Executive Director

The South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association is proud to announce the selection of Charlie King as its new Executive Director.  Chief King comes to the Association from Oconee County where he served as the Fire Chief.  Chief King has most recently served as the 73rd President of the Association and will become its 6th Executive Director in the Association’s 114-year history.

Chief Charlie King offered this statement:I am humbled by the opportunity to join a talented staff in serving the Firefighters of South Carolina. I look forward to building on the programs, vision and relationships that have made our Association great for more than 100 years.  I look forward to working with each of you in the coming years to fulfill our core mission of member benefits, training and education, and stewards of our Firemen's Insurance and Inspection Funds.”

 

The SC State Firefighters’ Association 2nd Vice President and Chair of the Executive Director Selection Committee, Jamie Caggiano said,After a very intense review and interview process the selection committee feels very confident Charlie King is the right candidate to be the next Executive Director for our Association.”

Chief King will begin his duties on January 6, 2020.
