I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer to this point. I know all our member departments are anticipating receiving their 2017 Firemen’s Insurance & Inspection Fund distribution. I would like to inform you of some changes for the Firemen’s Insurance & Inspection Fund. First, an inner office personnel change has added additional resources to strengthen the SCSFA efforts in processing all submitted requests. I am sure you have had the pleasure in speaking with Jana Kassianos when calling our office for assistance or questions. Jana has accepted the position as the One Percent Accounting Services. With Jana accepting this position, it will enhance our ability to capture more member department data and improve the approval turnaround times. Jana has already transitioned nicely into her new role by becoming familiar with the submission and approval processes. Second, in an effort to improve the disseminating of information for the Firemen’s Insurance & Inspection Fund, the SCSFA has created a new email address for all correspondences and submitting of budgets/requests. The new email address that we ask everyone to start utilizing is, [email protected]. We have updated all the forms with the new email address which can be found at https://scfirefighters.org/data-record-keeping/one-percent/. With the addition of Jana’s new role, it has created more opportunities for me to make more department visits.
