Pee Dee Firefighters' Association Presents the Jim Flanagan Award

[caption id="attachment_6886" align="alignright" width="300"] David Bagwell presents the award to Patti during the Pee Dee FF's Assc. meeting at Wally's Fire in Marion, S.C.[/caption] Jim Flanagan Background Information Jim Flanagan was a Captain and Training Officer for the Florence Fire Department.   He was an active fire instructor for the S.C. Fire Academy and was involved throughout the Pee Dee area in assisting fire departments with their programs.  He was active in supporting the training initiatives of the Pee Dee Firefighters’ Association and served as Training Officer. Captain Flanagan was severely injured while crossing the highway during a mock training exercise near Florence and died on October 12, 1985.  Jim was a motivating instructor who mentored many firefighters throughout his career.  Because of his character, commitment to safety, training and leadership, this award is given annually in his name. Patti Johns was nominated for this award for the following reasons: Patti F. Johns is truly the example of a servant leader - always willing to go the extra mile to prop up the hurting and assist in the healing of our members. Patti’s close friend, David Bagwell, presented this award. David is the Chaplain for the Sumter Fire Department. ### Congratulations Patti! Well done
