National Volunteer Week

April 17, 2015

During this National Volunteer Week 2015, I extend my humblest gratitude to the men and women of our state's volunteer fire and emergency services who on a daily basis, without fanfare or applause, meet the needs of the ill and injured as well as those threatened by the ravages of wildland, structure, and vehicle fires, and a myriad of needs from speciality rescues and hazardous materials events. At the same time, you are maintaining stations, equipment, attending training, and in many cases raising funds in order to provide your services.

As a volunteer firefighter myself, your sacrifice and selfless devotion to service is the essence of servanthood to your fellow man. I am honored to visit and be among all of you in my role as SCSFA Recruitment Coordinator and must say each of you truly are the best of the best.

Thank you for being there.

Stay Safe. Train Often. Mentor Always. Recruit More.
