Message from SCSFA President & Executive Committee

Today, Tres Atkinson, President of the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association (SCSFA) along with the Executive Committee; announced the resignation of M. Kyle Minick, Executive Director of the SCSFA, effective Thursday, June 13, 2019. Executive Director Minick stated, “This decision was not taken lightly but in the best interest of the Association.  Executive Director Minick is pursuing other avenues but wishes continued success for the Association and its mission -  to serve our membership as the leader in advocacy, benefits, education and safety while acting as the steward of the Firemen’s Insurance and Inspection Fund.” President Atkinson will be taking a more active role of the day to day operations of the Association until Charlie King, current 1st Vice President is sworn in as the 73rd President of the Association during the 2019 Fire-Rescue Conference. The Executive Committee, upon completion of the conference will begin discussions on filling the position of Executive Director. The SCSFA, through direction of the President and Executive Committee, will continue to communicate with SCSFA membership any pertinent information as it relates to the Executive Director position.
