Award Recognitions for last year's flood response are due by this Friday February 26, 2016! Since last year’s flooding event, the Association has learned that many fire departments performed significant water rescue missions. There were numerous missions to preserve life throughout the state and the Association wants to recognize first responders in front of our elected officials at a ceremony during Legislative Day which will be held at the South Carolina State House on March 16, 2016. To do this, we need you to submit a brief written description of the incident, personnel involved, location, and outcome. The Chief, or their designee, will need to endorse, verify, and submit the information no later than February 26, 2016. After this date, the submissions will be reviewed by the Association’s Advisory Committee. Upon acceptance of the submission, confirmation will be sent via email to the Chief of the Department. Along with your submission, please send a head count of how many participants you will send on March 16. Submit your application via email to [email protected] or fax to 803-454-1895.
