Here’s what you missed at Fire Service Improvement Conference

January 26, 2024

258 firefighters showed up in droves to train with us this month—despite temperatures dipping into the high teens. Nearly everyone has heard “you can’t train enough for a job that can kill you” and it’s true. The time and effort you put into training for the different scenarios you face can save a life.

While practice may not make perfect, it makes progress, and you owe it to yourself and your community to work to get better every day. We witnessed a bunch of South Carolina firefighters work tirelessly to get better so that they’re ready when the tones drop.

Thank you to everyone who chose to train with us. The instructor cadres were exceptional—thank you for lending us your talent. The vendors provided the support that makes HOT conferences possible and we extend our sincerest gratitude.

Fire Service Improvement Conference requires facilities, and we have many to thank for allowing us to use their training locations. Thank you to Columbia Richland Fire Department, Lexington County Fire Service, South Carolina State Fire, West Columbia Fire Department, Ridge Springs Fire Rescue, WP Rawl Farm, Yon Farms, Clemson Agriculture, and DoubleTree for being gracious and generous hosts.
