Here's some of what you missed at Fire Service Improvement Conference 2025

January 29, 2025

Over 260 South Carolina firefighters braved the unusual winter weather last week to come train with us during Fire Service Improvement Conference.

Nearly everyone has heard “you can’t train enough for a job that can kill you” and it’s true. The time and effort you put into training for the different scenarios you face helps you fulfill the mission of saving life and property.

While practice may not make perfect, it makes progress, and you owe it to yourself and your community to work to get better every day. We witnessed South Carolina firefighters work tirelessly to get better so that they’re ready when the tones drop.

Thank you to everyone who chose to train with us. The instructor cadres were exceptional—thank you for lending us your talent. The vendors provided the support that makes HOT conferences possible and we extend our sincerest gratitude.

We extend an enormous thank you to the South Carolina State Fire Fire Academy, Lexington County Fire Service, Columbia Fire Department (SC), Newberry Fire Department, Fairfield County Fire Service, Lugoff Fire Department, North Spartanburg Fire Department, Ridge Springs / Yon Farms, DoubleTree by Hilton, Spartan Fire and Emergency Apparatus Inc., Safe Industries, Wally's Fire & Safety Equipment, Inc., South Carolina Department of Education, T&E Committee, and Lowe’s Garner’s Ferry. Your support, contributions, and collaboration is essential and we sincerely appreciate your partnership.

It's important to us to capture the work you put in during FSIC. Thank you to Conway Fire Department Chief Le Hendrick and Caleb Jacobs for lending us your time and photography talent!
