Funeral arrangements for fallen firefighter Christopher Ray

UPDATE Fire Truck Parking Fire Trucks attending the funeral for Christopher Gene Ray of Conway S.C. Fire Department need to report to Beach Church (557 George Bishop Pkwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579) by 9:30 am for apparatus placement. The service will begin at 11:00 am. All fire personnel will have special seating. The burial will immediately follow the service at Buffkin Cemetery in Green Sea, S.C. (3658 Fairbluff Hwy. Green Sea SC). Please be aware this is about an hour drive from the church. Parking is limited at the burial site; there will be fire personnel directing you where to park. CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The funeral for Conway firefighter Chris Ray will be held at Thursday 11 a.m. at The Beach Church in Myrtle Beach, a city official confirmed. Chris Ray was part of the Conway Fire Department responding to a house fire on Hickory Circle around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Both Conway and Horry County Fire Departments were fighting the blaze. Ray fell off the back of the truck and was hit as it backed up, South Carolina Highway Patrol said. Conway Fire Chief Le Hendrick provided more details on arrangements for Ray: Visitation, Wednesday, March 23 from 4PM until 7PM (Goldfinch Conway Chapel – 608 Beaty Street) Funeral, Thursday, March 24 at 11AM (Beach Church – 557 George Bishop Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579) Burial will be immediately following in the Green Sea Community (address is unknown at this time) Stay tuned for more information on WMBF News coverage of the funeral.
