Funeral arrangements announced for former Fire Chief, William "Billy" Campbell

William Mimms "Billy" Campbell, 75, of Pelzer, husband of Sandra Thrasher Campbell, passed away September 12, 2016. Billy was a member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, a United States Navy Veteran and retired Chief of South Greenville Fire District. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Julia Altman (Dave); grandsons Campbell and Christian Altman and Sean Mills; granddaughter Madeline Altman; great-grandson Dietz Altman, brother Sam Campbell (Ann) and his lab Maggie. Billy was predeceased by his parents George and Lucy Mimms Campbell. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15 at South Greenville Fire District Headquarters from 5-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, September 16, 11am at Beech Springs Church, 125 Cooley Bridge Rd, Pelzer with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens located at 7744 Augusta Road Piedmont, SC 29673. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to an education fund for his grandsons at Commercial Bank 8016 Augusta Rd, Piedmont, SC 29673 or Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, 1045 Cooley Bridge Road, Belton, SC 29627. Apparatus Processional Information: Any department that will be bringing vehicles that will be in the funeral processional from the church, to the cemetery please enter from Cooley Bridge Road.
