We’re a few short weeks away from Fire-Rescue, and we hope to see you and your family in Myrtle Beach, June 11-14! To make your experience as streamlined and enjoyable as possible, we’ve outlined a few important details ahead of your trip.
Check-in
There is no pre-registration because conference is free for members and classes are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Check-in at the kiosks when you get to the Convention Center to get your badge and pick up guest badges for your family.
Course schedule
The course schedule is jam-packed this year and offers a variety of class types. Take a look at the schedule and make a note of what classes pique your interest. Remember, everything is on a first-come, first-serve basis; we encourage you to get your seat early.
Fire-Rescue app
It is a priority for us to continue to improve your Fire-Rescue experience year after year. We’re excited to introduce the Fire-Rescue app at this year’s conference! The app includes a map of the exhibit hall, the full class schedule with descriptions and room numbers, speaker bios, and more. The Fire-Rescue app is compatible with Apple and Android devices.
Hotels
June is prime time for Myrtle Beach tourism so go ahead and book your room if you haven’t yet. We’ve got a list of hotels near the Convention Center to help you narrow down your search.
T-shirts
Fire-Rescue t-shirts are available now (order ahead of time and have yours before it’s time to pack) and will be available at conference. Shirts are $25 and available in sizes small-4XL.
Coins
Conference challenge coins will be available for $10 a piece when you get to Fire-Rescue.
Things to do in Myrtle Beach
Several Myrtle Beach area attractions are offering firefighters and their families discounts during the week of Fire-Rescue, including Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Alligator Adventure, EdVenture Children’s Museum, Sky Wheel, and Shipwreck, Jurassic, Jungle, and Captain Hooks putt-putt courses.
Beach Workouts
Thanks to the collaboration between the Health & Safety Committee, Conference Committee, Myrtle Beach Fire Department, North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue, and Horry County Fire Rescue, we’re excited to offer morning beach workouts the week of Fire-Rescue.

Golf tournament
The South Carolina Firefighters Foundation Golf Tournament is on Wednesday, June 11, at Legends Golf Resort. Tee-time is 8 a.m. sharp. We saw record turnout last year and hope to continue the upwards trend of participants and money raised for South Carolina firefighters.
Beach Bash
South Carolina Firefighters Insurance Services is excited to host Beach Bash on Wednesday, June 11 starting at 5:30 p.m. at Crocodile Rocks at Broadway at the Beach. Thanks to sponsors, food, drinks, and entertainment are on the house. Bring the family – it’s going to be a great time!
Silent auction
The Foundation is also hosting a silent auction throughout Fire-Rescue. Items include driving experiences, collectable items, wine tastings, and more. Bidding opens Thursday, June 12 at 3 p.m. and closes Saturday, June 14 at 12 p.m. noon.
Opening ceremonies
Fire-Rescue officially kicks off with the Opening Ceremonies and Business Meeting on Thursday, June 12 at 9 a.m. Join us and hear from keynote speakers Dan Shaw and Dr. Sara Jahnke.
Exhibit hall soft opening
The Thursday night exhibit hall soft opening is your first glimpse at the extensive vendor hall. We’ll see you there from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Movie night
We’re excited to partner with Conway Parks and Recreation and Conway Fire Department to present 101 Dalmatians (Live Version) on Thursday night at 9 p.m. at The Terrace in Conway. Popcorn and drinks are on us, just bring a lawn chair and blanket!
Fire Safe South Carolina
Fire Safe South Carolina designees will be recognized on Friday, June 13 at 3 p.m. This designation signifies dedication and hard work by the department for its commitment to reduce fire-related injuries, promote consistent fire safety messaging, and stress the importance of collecting accurate fire scene data. Congratulations to the Fire Safe communities.
Fun Run
We're hosting the Fun Run with a Fire Service Hero, a free, family-friendly event open to everyone on Saturday, June 14 at 7:30 a.m. at Grand Park at Market Commons. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or someone who enjoys a morning stroll, this run is all about moving at your own pace and having a great time.
After the run, keep the good vibes going by joining us for brunch at TideCreek Brewhouse. It’s the perfect place to refuel and relax with fellow runners, community members, and our local heroes. Plus, firefighters with a Fire-Rescue badge can enjoy up to a 20% discount as a thank-you.
Explorer/Jr Competition
We know the future of the fire service is bright and in good hands. The Explorer and Junior Firefighter Competition on Saturday, June 14 at 1 p.m. is a friendly showcasing of skills from Explorer and Junior programs across the state. Sign up before May 31 to participate.
Banquet and Awards Ceremony
Our Banquet & Transfer of Command Ceremony is the official conclusion of Fire-Rescue on the evening of June 14 at 6:30 p.m. Please join us as we recognize award winners and swear in incoming officers. Tickets are required.
