Crash Responder Safety Week is November 18-22

November 13, 2024

Crash Responder Safety Week, an initiative started by the Federal Highway Administration in 2016, aims to raise awareness about keeping first responders safe during traffic incidents. This year's theme, "Responders Ahead! Reduce Your Speed As You Proceed" urges drives to reduce speed as they approach and travel past active roadway incidents such as a crash, stalled vehicle, or roadway debris. Simple acts of slowing down, moving over, and staying alert can keep the first responders who serve your community and members of the Traffic Incident Management (TIM) community safe. The National Operations Center of Excellence provides a number of resources to participate in Crash Responder Safety Week, November 18-22, 2024.
