On behalf of SC State Firefighters' Association President, Keith Minick and the Executive Committee and staff we offer our deepest condolences to the family of Chief William "Ed" Edward McNeill, Jr., and his Campobello Fire Department, who passed away suddenly on March 4, 2021 after working several calls with his fire department. Chief McNeill Obituary. He was a member of Campobello First Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army National Guard. Ed was a dedicated servant to his community where he was a member of the Campobello Fire Department for 44 years and the last 25 years as Fire Chief. Chief McNeill will receive line-of-duty honors during the funeral service and we ask that you review those details below for visitation and the funeral service: Visitation: March 12, 2021 6:00PM-8:00PM Location: Landrum High School Auditorium Landrum High School 18818 Asheville Highway Campobello, SC 29322 Funeral Service: March 13, 2021 1:00 PM (Body will “lie in state” beginning at 8:00 AM) Location: Landrum High School Auditorium Landrum High School 18818 Asheville Highway Campobello, SC 29322 Graveside Service: Roselawn Memorial Gardens 1451 Compton Bridge Road Inman, SC 29349 *Due to Covid 19, the family requests that social distancing be observed and masks be worn. *Apparatus parking will be handled by the parkingcrew. Attached are aerial details of staging areas for the service at Landrum High School and the cemetery beside Chapman High School following the procession. *Procession will follow the service, leaving Landrum High School and taking a left onto Asheville Highway towards Campobello. A brief pause in the procession will occur as we approach the Campobello Fire Department, for the family and engine carrying the casket, to ride by the station. At this point the procession will pick back up and continue on Asheville Highway to Windmill Hill. From Windmill Hill the procession will turn right onto Compton Bridge Road and end at the cemetery. Parkingcrew will assist in staging of the apparatus in the Chapman High School student parking lot. *In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Campobello Fire Department Christmas Fund, PO Box 9, Campobello, SC 29322 or to the Campobello First Baptist Back Pack Ministries, 255 S Main St, Campobello, SC 29322. *Condolences may be left at www.pettyfuneralhome.com.
