Cancer Survey: UNC Motion Science Institute

The topic of cancer is a heavy, critical part of the fire service. It is no secret that the harsh conditions firefighters face while on the job puts them at an increased risk of developing various types of cancer.

If you are a firefighter that has been affected by cancer, we are encouraging you to take part in an anonymous survey conducted by our partner, the UNC Motion Science Institute. The survey is titled “The Impact of Cancer-Related Fatigue Among Firefighters in Cancer Remission.” Your participation helps advance understanding and support for firefighters affected by cancer.

Overall Objectives: 

• Understand the impact of cancer-related fatigue among firefighters in cancer remission.
• Inform strategies to support firefighter health, performance, and quality of life.

Who’s Eligible:

• Current or former U.S. structural firefighters (career or volunteer) in cancer remission.

Taking the Survey:

• The survey can be completed on any computer or tablet, not your mobile phone.
