Beware of spoof email circulating

A scam/phishing email requesting "information verification" is circulating. The South Carolina State Firefighters' Association will not ask you to click a link to confirm your information.

As technology evolves, scammers are getting sneakier. In this scam/phishing email, the email in the "from" line looks real on first glance, but taking a closer look reveals red flags that this is not a legitimate email. Another giveaway that this is a scam is the note on revoking licenses. The South Carolina State Firefighters' Association does not award, certify, or revoke licenses of any kind. Please pay close attention to who the email is from, the content of the email, and look for any suspicious language like "revoke your license" before clicking any links.
