Battery 101: Battery Safety Training hosted by Soteria

Soteria Innovation Battery Group is hosting Battery 101: Battery Safety Training on August 7, 2024 in Greenville. The cost is $50 for first responders and $250 for industry attendees. Cost includes lunch, drinks, and snacks. 

Through expert training and live battery safety demonstrations—ranging from small cellphone-sized cells to golf cart batteries—attendees will gain valuable experience in managing lithium-ion battery fires. The curriculum covers battery fundamentals and will help first responders better understand the chemistry of batteries in order to identify potential hazards.

Speakers include Robert Rezende (San Diego Fire-Rescue), Bryan Vasser (US Environmental Protection Agency), and Josh Cassidy and John Orland (FDNY).

This training is supported by South Carolina State Fire and the Greenville City Fire Department and sponsored by DGeo.
