Assistance to Firefighters Grant application period is open

The application period for Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) opened November 12 and closes December 20. As of September 23, 2024, FEMA has made over 1,600 AFG awards totaling $324 million to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters nationwide against fire-related deaths and hazards.

Since 2001, over $8 billion in grants has been awarded to "provide critically needed resources to help keep firefighters and the public safe from fires and fire-related hazards."
