All ICC Members: vote NOW to defend home fire sprinklers

May 17, 2016

Although all proposals to eliminate home fire sprinklers from the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC) were rejected by the IRC Committee at the April public hearing, an “Assembly Motion” was made for proposal RB129-16. The assembly motion requires a supplemental vote by ICC members, and we need your help to oppose/defeat the assembly motion. VOTING DEADLINE IS MAY 26, 2016.
The future of residential fire safety in America hinges on winning this vote and upcoming votes that may occur during ICC’s final action voting in November 2016. Home fire sprinklers represent our best chance of striking at the heart of America's fire problem. We won the home fire sprinkler issue 8 years ago, culminating a 30-year effort, and we’ve been successful in defending that requirement in the 2009, 2012 and 2015 editions of the IRC. Losing now would set back home fire safety for decades. View this PDF for instructions: TAKE ACTION – VOTE ONLINE IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES Motion Call to Action Guide
