Members of the Officers Section,
The Officers Section is extremely excited about Fire-Rescue and what it is has to offer our members. The opportunities offered at conference include premier educational classes and programs, the opportunity to network and learn from the tremendous leadership which is in attendance, and the ability to engage with the vendors who serve our organizations throughout the year.
On behalf of the Officers Section Board, I invite you to attend the Officers Section Annual Meeting on Thursday June 11, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in room 203. Guest speaker Jason Pope, Superintendent of the Fire Academy, is presenting Remembering Your Why: Serving with Purpose. This promises to be a great training opportunity.
It is with extreme excitement that I have the honor of presenting to you the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan for your Officers Section of the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association. The Strategic Planning Committee under the leadership of Micah Taylor did a phenomenal job in crafting this document. The goals and key performance indicators found within the document parallel the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association’s Strategic Plan. The Section’s Officers will utilize the Strategic Plan to guide the decision-making process for the current and future operations of the Section as well as provide a roadmap to guide us into the future. The Strategic Planning Committee has worked hard to develop this plan using input from our Section members, Association staff, and the Association’s Executive Committee.
During the Annual Meeting, our new slate of Board members for the Section will be sorn in. Thank you for taking time and casting your votes to the incoming leaders. We had 2 contested positions with amazing candidates. I have the honor of announcing your new Officers Section Board for 2025-26:
My term as Chair of the Section will end during the 2025 Fire-Rescue conference. I want to take time to say thank you to everyone for their support and efforts during my tenure on the Section’s Board and especially as the Chair. It is amazing to look back over the last three (3) years and see the accomplishments of the Officers Section. This was possible only by the dedicated individuals who served on the Officers Section Board, Section Committees, Association staff, and individuals who took on additional responsibilities above and beyond the call of duty. I am truly humbled by the support and dedication that everyone has displayed during this time. The future of the Section is bright as there is an amazing team of professionals that will be continuing the great work that has been going since the Section was formed.
My hope is that you will be an active participant in helping the Section accomplish the goals and achieve the key performance indicators contained within the strategic plan and continue to be an active part of the Section contributing and being engaged. Your involvement and contributions are the key to the future!
