5th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament

September 17, 2013

The Charleston County Fire Chiefs' Association cordially invites you to participate in the 5th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday October 18, 2013. This event will be held at Oak Point Golf Club on Johns Island, part of Kiawah Island Resorts. This annual tournament is both a tribute to all firefighters who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and a fundraising outreach to provide resources to their surviving family members. All the proceeds from this event will be presented to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which provides immediate and long-term assistance, scholarships, and vocational training to the families of fallen firefighters. Our goal this year is to raise over $15,000.00. This tournament is part of a larger national effort, which this year is anticipated to provide $300,000 in critical operating revenue for the Foundation. We invite you to share in this golfing experience and to support this great and meaningful cause. A fine day is planned for all participants and golfers. Hot dogs will be served between the ninth green and club house with a BBQ cookout to follow, beverages will be provided on the course. Please consider becoming a tournament or hole sponsor for this event. Sponsors receive a finely appointed sign(s) displaying yours or your organization’s name placed on a tee box, clearly visible to all the golfers. Additionally, we will be offering personalized sponsorship pin flags which will be flown during the event. Your name or the name of your business will be printed on the flag, which you get to keep at the end of the day. Sponsors will be recognized during the awarding of prizes and closing ceremonies. The NFFF is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, and a portion of your sponsorship will be tax-deductible. The 5th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament will use the Captain’s Choice format, and foursomes will be organized from individual sign-ups. Prizes will be awarded for 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place. There will also be prizes for the “longest drive” (must be in the fairway) and the “closest to the pin” (must be on the green). There will be a silent auction and other giveaways as well. Raffle tickets will be sold for door prizes and we will also have handicap package which consists of 2 mulligans and a tee box buster for sale at a cost of $15.00 (1 per player) and a 50/50 drawing. The tournament will use a shotgun start at 0900 hours and it is anticipated that all golf rounds should be completed between 1400 and 1500 hours. The cookout will be immediately following the last flight getting in and all activities are expected to conclude by 1700 hours.
