This position reports to the facility Fire Chief and provides complex team support. The position requires independent judgment according to the situation. The position performs professional fire administrative and managerial duties involved in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, and implementing the following: Department/Shift training, assigned programs, activities, and operations of the Fire Department including general operations, emergency medical services, disaster preparedness, fire prevention, fire inspection, fire investigation, code enforcement, maintenance, and related programs. Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED. Class E driver license. Current CPR / AED for Health Care Provider or BLS certification. IFSAC / ProBoard Firefighter II. NFPA 1002 Ch. 4 or equivalent Emergency Vehicle Driver Training or Apparatus Operator (AO) Certification. NFPA 1002 Ch. 5 or equivalent Fire Department Pumper Operations 1. IFSAC / ProBoard Fire Instructor 2 or NFPA 1041 equivalent. IFSAC / ProBoard Fire Officer 3 or NFPA 1021 equivalent. NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700. OSHA 30 Certification is preferred. Will be required within 12 months of hire. Fire Department Safety Officer/Health & Safety Officer NFPA 1521. Preference given to candidates who are EMT Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic.
