The Tyger River Fire Department in Lyman, SC is currently accepting applications for the position of Lieutenant/Training Coordinator. This is a full-time position that will work a traditional 24/48 schedule. In addition to serving as a shift lieutenant, the desirable candidate will also be responsible for developing and coordinating training to meet NFPA and ISO Guidelines. The candidate will be required to schedule and conduct mandatory quarterly training for the members and host quarterly Automatic Aid Training. The desired candidate MUST have the following: • High School Diploma or GED • Firefighter II, Rapid Intervention & Rescuing the Rescuer, Technical Rescuer, & Haz Mat Operations • EVDT, SC Class E License or greater. Pump Operations I, & Aerial Operations • Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, & NIMS ICS 100 – 400 • Fire Officer II and Fire Officer III or an Equivalent of– Associates or bachelor’s degree in a fire service-related field • SC and National Registry EMT – Basic • Must be proficient on the keyboard and have basic knowledge of online fire data collection programs Preferred Qualifications Include: • Associate degree or higher in related field of Fire Science, Fire Administration, or Public Administration • SC Fire Academy IOWs • Haz Mat Technician • Confined Space Rescue • Proficient in Ropes and High Angel Rescue • Swift Water Rescue • Career in the Fire Service with at least 4 years of service as a company officer (Lt. or Capt.)
