The City of Rock Hill, SC is seeking applicants for the position of Firefighter I. This is a full time position with a starting salary of $41,240. General Qualifications: 18 years of age, High School diploma or GED equivalent, and a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass an in-depth background evaluation and work-related medical evaluation. *previous firefighting and emergency medical experience preferred but not required. Retirement- PORS retirement system About RHFD ISO Class 1 rating Protects 44 square miles with a U.S census population of 74,102. Answers approximately 10,000 fire, medical, and rescue calls annually. Career paid department with a three shift, 24 hour on, 48 hours off work schedule. 143 personnel: 126- Fire Suppression, 8-Fire Marshall's Office, 9-Administration Specialized response services: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical, Trench Rescue, Vehicle Extrication, High/Low Angle Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, and Hazardous Materials Response.
