Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic Hours/Day:24 HRS ON / 48 HRS OFF Start Time:8:00AM End Time:7:59AM Closing date:Oct 5, 2022 Firefighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics perform a wide variety of firefighting, emergency response, public education, and related duties. The department responds to approximately 8500 incidents a year, with approximately 6800 being EMS related responses. Operating out of 7 fire stations in a 24 on and 48 hours off three shift system, Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue is dedicated to serving the community with outstanding customer service and timely emergency response services. Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; and Must be 18 years of age at time of hire; and Must be in good physical health as determined by a medical examination; and Valid Driver's License. Additional qualifications that may be obtained after hire (not required at time of hire): Valid Class E Driver’s License within one (1) year of hire; and SC Emergency Medical Technician Basic Level Certification and National Registry of EMT's Emergency Medical Technician-B card; and IFSAC or Proboard Firefighter I & II and Haz Mat Operations Certifications. For a full job description, please click here. Salary Range - Firefighter/EMT $50,846- $69,285. Firefighter/Paramedic $66,111- $80,370 with current National Paramedic Registry Certification. Sign-on bonuses will be paid to certified Firefighters ($2500), EMTs ($2500) and Paramedics ($10,000) whose credentials are transferable or have reciprocity (do not require additional education or training to become credentialed in South Carolina).
