Georgetown County Fire & EMS serves a diverse community along the South Carolina coast, providing emergency medical services and fire protection to both rural and urban areas spanning across 780 square miles. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid South Carolina driver's license or ability to obtain within 60 days
• National Registry certification or ability to obtain
• Firefighter I (IFSAC or Pro Board)
• Must pass physical ability test and department medical examination
• Clean driving record
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Schedule, Benefits, and Salary Information

• 24/48 shift schedule (24 hours on, 48 hours off)
• Competitive salary based on experience and certifications:
  
  • Firefighter/EMT-B: $43,000
  • Firefighter/EMT-A: $47,000
  • Firefighter/Paramedic: $51,000
  • EMT-Basic: $35,328
  • EMT-Advanced: $37,117
  • Paramedic: $45,223
