Under minimal supervision, the Fire Safety Technician is responsible for managing all fire sprinkler, standpipe and fire pump service/inspections. Exercise fire pumps to insure integrity. All systems must be tested, inspected and repaired in accordance with NFPA 13 and 25. Respond to incidents and/or perceived emergencies. Assist fire alarm technician with responding to fire alarms and trouble alarms, some trouble shooting required. Issue hot work permits when requested. Assist with identifying and report fire safety hazards. Document all work. On call 24 hours a day.
