The City of Conway Fire Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Fire Marshal. This position performs difficult protective service work participating in and supervising fire prevention, inspections and fire suppression activities; Work may be performed under emergency conditions and involve considerable personal hazard. This position ensures the accurate and complete documentation of all department activities. This position performs related administrative, supervisory and technical work as required. This position works within a general outline of work to be performed, and develops work methods and sequences and reports to the Fire Chief. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel. Minimum Training and Experience: Associate’s Degree in Fire Service Management or Fire Science; at least five (5) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Special Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; must possess a valid Class “D” Driver’s license, or equivalent; successful completion of annual physical agility testing and medical examination. The following certifications, or their equivalent, are required: • IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter I and II • NFPA or ICC Fire Inspector I Salary Range: $50,763 to $78,683.
