This position is based with the 165th Airlift Wing, state of Georgia Department of Defense, located at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Garden City, GA. As a key member of the airport fire department, you will respond to emergencies including aircraft fires, structural fires, hazardous material spills, medical emergencies, and specialized rescue situations at the 165th AW and SHHIAP. Your responsibilities will include controlling and extinguishing fires to protect lives and property, operating and maintaining specialized Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles and equipment, as well as structural firefighting apparatus. Additionally, you will assist with fire inspections on military facilities including evaluating flight line equipment, fire extinguishers, hydrants, and maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of fire department buildings and grounds.
