Benefits and Compensation Based on a 53-hour work week, the starting salary for a certified Firefighter I/Firefighter Recruit is $47,132, See our most updated pay structure when you visit our careers page. Our firefighters are divided into three shifts: 24 hours on, followed by 48 hours off.
