Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing and implementing the overall community risk reduction/life safety strategic initiatives. Coordinates timely safety messages to the community through all forms of media.

Essential Functions

Community Risk Reduction Initiatives (100%)

• Conducts community risk assessments to identify issues within the community.
• Develops and implements risk reduction strategies and specific programs which target identified issues within the community.
• Develops and delivers various programs, events, forums, presentations, lectures, and multimedia presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of community risk reduction and fire and life safety classes in response to audience attendance, program evaluations, instruction methods, while ensuring the material is up-to-date and reflects current strategies in fire prevention.
• Collects and analyzes relevant data and statistics.
• Analyzes current and future trends and adapts programs to meets challenges.
• Prepares budget proposals and expenditure projections for community risk reduction and life safety education initiatives, following the standards and guidelines of the district.
