Position: Firefighting Teacher, Exempt

Qualifications: Must meet requirements to obtain Career and Technical Education Certification; Highly Qualified in Fire Sciences subject(s) being taught is required. Certified South Carolina Fire Academy instructor. Have at least 6,000 hours (3 years) experience as a firefighter. Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or ability to obtain). Preferred: Current firefighter or public safety similar certification strongly preferred. Experience in Wildland Firefighting and/or Emergency Medical Training. Experience working and supervising students in a classroom setting. Experience and desire to work with high school students in developing their knowledge and skill to be employed in the fire science industry or to continue to post-secondary education Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Duties:

• Ability to build and foster partnerships within the community and promote Career and Technical Education programs.
• Maintain an Advisory Committee of local employers
