Essential job functions include: Under limited supervision and direction of the Fire Chief, perform responsible administrative duties, develops, coordinates, implements and supervises fire related training programs; prepares and posts a monthly training schedule and assumes full command of scheduled classes and drills ensuring safety and effectiveness of all drills and exercises. Accountable to maintain the records for the department training programs. Duties and responsible to serve as the department’s Safety Officer. Works under stressful, high-risk conditions. Requirements: • Vocational/technical diploma in fire science or related field. • Six (6) years of progressive experience in fire services with history of continuous training and self-improvement. • Must have completed and maintained the following certifications or be able to complete within one year: a. Firefighter I b. Firefighter II c. NIMS – ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 or equivalents d. Pump Operations I e. Pump Operations II f. Basic Arial Operations g. Medical First Responder h. Hazardous Material Technician i. Auto Extrication j. Confined Space Rescue k. Fire Instructor I l. Health and Safety Officer m. Fire Officer I • Any equivalent combination of skills, education and experience.
