Fire Marshal Entry Salary $50,588 DUQ Open Until 6/30/2022 Monday – Friday work hours with call back as needed MUST PROVIDE 10 yr DRIVING RECORD Plans, coordinates, implements and manages an effective fire code and community risk reduction program to reduce the potential for injury and death of civilians and firefighters. Educates the public on the dangers associated with fire and other hazards encountered in-home and in the community. Enables fire suppression personnel to provide public education, inspections, and training when needed in our community. Plans to organize and implement programs within major organizational policies, reporting program progress to executive-level administration through reports and conferences. Works with other local and state agencies to ensure life safety needs are being met within facilities in our area of responsibility. Ensures pre-fire plans are readily available to operations personnel. Becomes an integral team player to the City of Anderson building/code efforts. Assists with personnel selection and promotion processes. Assists in developing and recommending the implementation of standard operating guidelines. Determines department compliance with all applicable state and federal safety standards. Prepares and maintains records and reports related to programs under charge. Assists in developing and managing the department’s training budget. Responds to emergency alarms and performs firefighting, fire rescue, and/or hazardous materials response duties as required. Supports special response team training and operations, Incident Management Team, Technical Rescue Team, Hazardous Materials Team Supervises coordinates and evaluates personnel in training and emergency operations. Serves as a member of the executive staff and represents the Fire Chief as necessary in the absence of the Chief. Attends training, conferences, seminars, and meetings to remain knowledgeable of modern fire suppression, training and prevention methods and administration; maintains required certifications. Performs general administrative/clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, entering and retrieving computer data, attending meetings, etc. Remains available 24 hours per day, seven days per week, for emergency response
