The City of Marion Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Fire Chief. The Assistant Fire Chief reports to the Fire Chief and effectively manages the department's operations and resources. The Marion City Fire Department consists of 24 volunteer fire/rescue personnel and eight full-time staff. Qualifications include no less than five years as a company officer or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a certified South Carolina EMT, Firefighter II, EVDT, and NIMS compliant or obtain these within one year. Must have experience in budgeting, fire prevention, personnel supervision, and a good customer/ public service-oriented philosophy. A commitment to reside in Marion, or Marion County near the city limits, is required. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Equal Opportunity Employer. Position open until filled.
