WFFD is searching for an experienced Aerial Operator to join our team. This individual will drive, operate and pump aerial ladder equipment or other apparatus to assist in the suppression of fires in the protection of life and property. The individual will be responsible for Aerial Operations, maintaining records, and reports relevant to the operation of the apparatus. The position will also respond to emergency medical calls, technical rescues, Haz-mat incidents, and motor vehicle accidents. The schedule is a 24-hour on and 48-hours off rotation shift schedule. Applicants will be subject to a background investigation and Firefighter Registration through the South Carolina Fire Marshal’s Office per provisions of Title 40, Chapter 80, of the South Carolina Code of Laws. Qualifications for this position are: Must be 21 years of age, Minimum of High School Diploma or GED, Minimum Valid SC Class E Driver’s License, EVTD, IFSAC Firefighter II, NREMT- Basic Certification (min. preferred – or must receive NREMT within 1 year of hire date), Aerial Operations, Pump Ops I, 2 years of firefighting experience (min.) Must receive within 1 year of hire: Building Construction Combustible / Non-Combustible, Support Company Operations, PICO, STICO, NIMS 300.
