Bio Charles Lamoreaux

Chair, By-Laws Committee

Chief Lamoreaux, a St. Andrews Fire Department member since 1999, holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science Administration and a Master of Science in Leadership in addition to a host of technical certificates, including Fire Officer IV, from the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress. While holding the rank of Captain, Lamoreaux earned the Firefighter of the Year award in 2011. He served as the Assistant Chief of Training and Special Operations for three years before becoming Chief of the Department in 2016. Lamoreaux is a 2014 South Carolina State Firefighter’s Association’s Leadership Institute graduate and serves on the by-laws committee for the organization. He is an active member of Seacoast Church, where he serves with his wife as a leader in the guest services ministry; he also serves on the Men’s Hike Board of Advisors for the church. He is a member Georgia Smoke Diver Association, an active participant with the South Carolina Burned Children’s Fund’s Camp “CAN” Do, and the local High School Injury Prevention Coalition.
