Brook Dennis, a native of Estill, South Carolina, is a proud first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association, Brook worked as Communications Coordinator for the South Carolina Association of CPAs, Content Strategist for the South Carolina Bar, and was the Communications intern for both United Way of the Midlands and Richland County School District One.
Brook enjoys working on projects around the house, sitting on the front porch, winning any competition, listening to 2000s country, making people laugh, and spending lazy days with her husband, Joe, and their two cats, Millicent (Millie) and Matilda (Tillie). She loves the water and is hopeful to one day retire with a waterfront view.
Brook comes from a strong firefighter family and credits them—particularly her late grandfather, Gene Rushing, her “Pops” and Hampton County Fire Chief—for her love, dedication, and admiration for the fire service.
