Ernest “Brick” Crosby Lewis Jr. brings a lifelong commitment to public service, community, and leadership to his role as Deputy Director of the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association. Born and raised between Columbia and Winnsboro, South Carolina, Brick has dedicated his career to serving others with integrity and purpose.
Brick earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lander University in 2001. His public safety journey began with the Columbia Police Department, where he served for over four years, as the department’s Public Information Officer. He later joined the Columbia Fire Department, at the rank of Captain and continuing in the role of Public Information Officer for seven years.
Since 2018, Brick has served the South Carolina fire service community through his leadership at the Association. In his current role, he supports, advocates for, and advances the mission of fire service professionals across the state.
Outside of work, Brick enjoys spending time outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, or simply appreciating nature. He and his wife of over 25 years have raised two sons and remain deeply rooted in the values of service, family, and respect for the natural world.
