Bio Benjamin Williams

Benjamin “Ben” Williams began his fire service career as a volunteer in May 1999 with the Anderson County Fire Department. After several years of volunteer service, he accepted his first career position with the North Charleston Fire Department. A few years later, he returned to the Upstate to join the Simpsonville Fire Department, where he served until October 2022. He currently serves as a Lieutenant with Clemson University Fire & EMS.

Throughout his fire service career, Ben earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, graduated from the National Fire Academy’s Managing Officer Program, and achieved the Designated Fire Officer credential through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He is currently participating in the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association Leadership Program and serves as a Staff Senator at Clemson University.

Ben has been married for 21 years and he and his wife have four children. He enjoys spending time with his family on his days off and is actively involved in his church and community outreach efforts.
