The Executive Director leads a highly motivated group of staff and volunteers which oversees the operation and administration of a 17,500 member not for profit organization. The Executive Director carries out the mission of the Association, which is to further the member benefits and professional well being of the South Carolina fire service. The ideal candidate for this position will be a charismatic, motivated, leader that exhibits attributes of the highest moral standard in representing the fire service in various roles and duties. The Executive Director is the face of the state’s fire service and must have the skill set to comfortably operate in numerous settings and mirror constituents and audiences to which he or she is presenting. The ideal candidate can travel and is responsive to calls for help on a consistent and regular basis from members ranging from firefighters to chiefs. The Executive Director is a problem solver and a motivator that offers his or her skills in forming the overall direction of the South Carolina fire service.
