The Town of Clover is currently accepting resumes/applications for the full-time position of Fire Chief. Currently, the Department is all volunteer but is transitioning to a mix of paid and volunteer. The Fire Chief and one full-time Fire Fighter will be the first paid positions for the Department. Currently, there are 21 volunteer fire fighters.
This position is responsible for planning, directing, managing and supervising the activities of the Fire Department. Responsible for fire prevention and response and training for all paid and volunteer fire fighters. The normal work week will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm; however, some evening and weekend work will be required.
A bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or a related field or Associate Degree supplemented by a minimum of ten years of experience in a job related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Firefighter II, CPR certification, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training and Pump Operations certification required. Good physical health as determined by a medical examination. May be required to possess or obtain additional certifications as deemed necessary. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
