Job Description

Firefighter Responsibilities

• Responds to calls for service including fires, wrecks, medical, and general calls for service under the supervision of Fire Officers.
• Attends and participates in training, general maintenance and cleaning of station and equipment to keep in a constant state of readiness to respond to calls. Respond to business to create pre-fire plans and inspections. Maintain and test hydrants throughout the district.
• Applicants will only be considered for employment with completed applications, along with clean driving record and background check.

Salary 

Starting pay ranges from $33,700- $37,000 per year based on education and experience with the possibility of

• $500 raise after 90 day review
• $500 raise after 120 day review
• $1000 raise for obtaining Class B CDL within one year of hire.
• Along with a .5%-2% raise based on classes taken through the South Carolina Fire Academy

Benefits

• Full medical for employee, and half medical for family.
• Up to 24 sick days after 2 years of service
• 3 Vacation days after 1 year anniversary and 6 days after 2 years of service.

Minimum requirements for employment

• 1152 Basic Firefighter
• CPRFirst Aid
