The Association is pleased to announce our Fall Training and Business Meeting.

  • When:  Wednesday, November 2, 2016
  • Where:  Denny Auditorium at the S.C. Fire Academy
  • Time:  10:00 am until 2:00 pm

Our special guest speaker will be Robert F. Duval, Senior Fire Investigator/New England Regional Director at NFPA

This informative and motivating program will discuss notable fires in places of assembly such as the Station Nightclub, our own Cleveland School, and the Lady of Angels School. Our speaker will take us back in time to review details of each tragedy and explore the lessons learned. He will also share the impact of these fires on current fire codes and prevention measures. At the end of the program, we must all ask, “Are we putting into practice those hard lessons learned from our past?”

Speaker information: Mr. Robert Duval is the Senior Fire Investigator for the NFPA which is located in Quincy, Massachusetts. Robert is responsible for conducting investigations of technically significant incidents in order to gather “lessons learned” from each incident to apply those lessons to improving NFPA codes and standards. The investigation of these incidents includes documenting the emergency services response, the structure(s) involved as well as the events leading up to and following the incident.

Reminder: there is no registration fee and lunch will be provided, however, remember to bring your Association membership card!
