South Carolina Fire Services
Strategic Planning Summit
Who: All South Carolina Fire Professionals committed to change and the development of a strategic plan.
What: The Strategic Planning Committee’s development of a long range strategic plan.
When: The Strategic Planning Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, 12 November 2008 from 1800 to 2200 hours. Dinner will be provided starting at 1700 hours free of charge to all attendees.
Where: The summit will be at the South Carolina Fire Academy in the Denny Auditorium.
Why: We are in need of your help to develop and endorse the heart of this plan. We need input from you concerning the 6 major issues that will be worked on so we can identify how to achieve the goals and objectives. This historic document needs input from across the state and from all professional levels (career, combination, volunteer, etc) of the fire service to ensure we have consensus, participation, and buy-in.
In order for us to plan properly we will need for all those planning to attend to please rsvp with the SC Firefighter’s Association at 800-277-2732 by 5 November 2008. Firefighters Land And Sea Holiday (F.L.A.S.H.)
A vacation and golf package to benefit the families of the Charleston 9 and the Charleston Fire Department. This is going to become an annual event to benefit a firefighter cause. For more information check out the following link:

Life Benefit Policy for Members Reminder
The Association carries a death benefit policy on all regular and life time members. To receive this benefit, the fire department must notify the Association of the passing and provide a death certificate, obituary, and a completed beneficiary form. For more details, call Zorrina Harmon at 866-623-1803.
Annual Memorial Service
The Association sponsors a Memorial Service for all Association members that have passed away during the previous calendar year at its annual conference in the summer. To have your deceased fire department member recognized at this service. Please notify -Zorrina Harmon at 866-623-1803 at the time of the members passing.
